Public log of Podhoc pricing changes. On 2026-05-19 we introduced VAT-inclusive sticker prices and added yearly subscription plans (save ~1 month).

This page is a public log of changes to Podhoc’s pricing model. Each entry shows the date, what changed, and the rationale.
2026-05-19 — VAT-inclusive ladder + yearly plans
What changed: all sticker prices are now displayed inclusive of Spain VAT (21%) as our European baseline. Recharge pack prices moved to a cleaner ladder: €2.29 / €4.49 / €11.49 / €22.99 (BEST VALUE anchor) / €44.99 / €66.99. Monthly subscription prices: Creator €20.99/mo, Pro €72.99/mo. New yearly plans launched — Creator €230.99/year and Pro €802.99/year — both priced at roughly 11 × the monthly rate, so a yearly plan effectively gives you one month free.
Why we changed:
- VAT clarity. Showing the price you actually pay (Spain VAT-inclusive) prevents the friction of seeing one number on the marketing site and a higher number at checkout. EU operators continue to receive consistent margins because the sticker re-grosses cleanly per-country.
- Yearly cadence demand. Heavy users — content teams, podcasters, API integrators — repeatedly asked for an annual commit. The “pay for 11, get 12” framing keeps the offer honest while protecting the per-credit anchor (1,000 credits ≈ €22.99 in pack equivalent).
- Anchor pack rebadged. The 1,000-credit pack remains the value reference. The new BEST VALUE badge makes the recommendation explicit on the pricing page and in JSON-LD

Credit consumption rates: unchanged. The 2026-05-12 consumption table (100 credits per 30-minute podcast at standard settings) still applies. The new ladder only changes EUR sticker prices, not the credit math.
What this means for existing users:
- Active subscribers continue on their current price for the remainder of the current billing period; the new price applies at the next renewal. If you are on a monthly plan, the yearly upgrade is one click in account settings.
- Pack buyers get the new ladder immediately on the next pack purchase. Credits already on your balance are unchanged.
- Grandfathered CREATOR pre-2026-05-18 subscribers continue under their legacy consumption rates (1 credit per Discover full listen on Free, 0 on CREATOR/PRO/owner) — the pricing change does not alter the grandfathering window.
2026-05-12 — new pricing model
Free trial: every new account starts with 50 welcome credits, enough to generate one 5-minute podcast at the small-script level. Welcome credits do not refill automatically. To make longer podcasts or to generate more, recharge from €2 — no subscription required.
Why we changed: AI model price volatility plus payment processing fees on small charges had compressed margins to the point where short single-podcast packs were running at a loss. The new rates restore a sustainable margin while keeping the entry price honest: one paid 30-minute podcast still costs less than a single specialty coffee.
Credit consumption — what one podcast now costs
Credits scale with podcast length. The base cost for a single-source, single-voice podcast at standard settings is:

Multiple sources, multiple voices, source weighting, and custom voices add small bonuses on top of the base cost. The exact estimate appears in the generator before you press generate, so there is no surprise charge.
Recharge pack prices — one-time, no subscription

€15 is the anchor: it buys 10 × 30-minute podcasts at the best rate. The €30 and €45 packs match that rate on a per-credit basis. The cheaper packs (€2, €4, €8) carry a small per-credit premium that covers the fixed cost of a small charge.
Subscriptions — unchanged in EUR
Creator (€9.90 / month) and Pro (€29 / month) monthly prices remain unchanged. The monthly credit grants are unchanged too (1,000 for Creator, 3,500 for Pro). Subscribers consume credits at the same new consumption rates as one-time-recharge users, so the effective number of podcasts per month adjusts in line with the new credit-per-minute rate.
What this means for existing users
- Paying users: keep all your existing credit balance. New podcasts use the new consumption rate from 2026-05-12 onwards.
- Free users with > 50 credits accumulated: balances of users who have never paid and never subscribed are reset to 50 to align with the new welcome-only free policy. Paid and previously-subscribed users are untouched.
- No notification email: this is a quiet update; the change is documented here and on the pricing page.
Earlier changes
The pricing model prior to 2026-05-12 was the original launch model from 2024. No interim changes were made before this update.
