Free to try Podhoc — recharge from €2.29, no subscription required

Every new account gets 50 welcome credits, enough to generate your first short podcast on us. When you want more, recharge from €2.29 — there is no subscription required, no monthly commitment, and no card on file unless you choose to add one.

Subscriptions remain available for heavy users, but they are a convenience, not a gate.

Credit packs — one-time recharges, never expire

Pick the pack that matches the way you listen. Credits never expire and every pack delivers the same audio quality, the same 74 languages, the same 8 audio styles.

€22.99 = 10 × 30-minute podcasts at the best rate — the value anchor. Every cheaper pack pays a small per-credit premium for the convenience of a smaller commitment, every larger pack tracks the anchor rate per credit.

A 30-minute podcast costs 100 credits, a 60-minute podcast costs 200, and a 120-minute podcast costs 400. Shorter podcasts cost less; advanced features (multiple sources, multiple voices, custom voice weighting) add small bonuses. The exact estimate is shown before you press generate.

Subscriptions — optional, for heavy users

Subscriptions are a convenience: recurring credit grants at a small discount, plus tier features. Subscribers also use credits at the same consumption rates as one-time recharges — the pricing model applies across both surfaces.

Free — €0

  • 50 welcome credits to try Podhoc — covers one 5-minute podcast comfortably.
  • One source per podcast, two supported languages.
  • Paste-in text content with standard processing.
  • Discover publishing: always on. Free-tier podcasts auto-publish to the public discover at the end of generation and cannot be made private. Upgrade for private generation.

When the welcome credits are gone, recharge from €2.29 instead of subscribing.

Creator — €20.99 / month or €230.99 / year

  • 1,000 credits per month (12,000 per year on the yearly plan).
  • Yearly plan saves ~1 month — pay for 11 months, get 12 months of credits.
  • Up to 2 sources per podcast, all 74 languages.
  • File uploads (.pdf, .docx, .doc, .txt), advanced settings, 2 voices.
  • Standard processing.
  • Discover publishing: your choice. Auto-publish is on by default but you can disable it per-podcast or globally via the “Auto-publish to Discover” toggle.

The Creator tier is for steady creators who generate a few long-form podcasts per week.

Pro — €72.99 / month or €802.99 / year

  • 3,500 credits per month (42,000 per year on the yearly plan).
  • Yearly plan saves ~1 month — pay for 11 months, get 12 months of credits.
  • Up to 50 sources per podcast, all 74 languages, 3 voices, source weighting.
  • Priority processing, credit rollover, speed controls.
  • Full REST API access with token authentication. auto_publish defaults to true; pass auto_publish: false to keep API-generated podcasts private.
  • Discover publishing: your choice. Auto-publish is on by default per-podcast and globally configurable.

Pro is the recommended path for API integrators and for teams generating multiple long-form podcasts per day.

Discover credit matrix — listen and download costs

Generating a podcast is one thing. Playing back a podcast you discover from another creator on Podhoc Discover, or downloading it offline, uses a separate small credit charge per play. The matrix below is the complete cost reference — your tier plus the podcast’s ownership determines what each action costs.

Listen to a full podcast

Anonymous visitors and unauthenticated readers always hear a 30-second preview of any public Discover podcast — generated automatically, free, no credits required. To listen to the full podcast you must be signed in, and the credit cost depends on your tier:

Your tierCredits per full listenNotes
Free5Same charge whether or not you own the podcast
CREATOR2Standard rate for community podcasts
PRO2Standard rate for community podcasts
You own the podcast0Free — your own podcasts never cost credits to listen

Download a podcast

The download button is only shown to signed-in CREATOR or PRO subscribers — Free-tier users will not see it. Downloads carry a higher per-play cost because they remove our ability to throttle re-listens.

PRO10Standard rate for community podcasts

Embed any podcast on your site

Embedding works the other way around — you only embed podcasts you own, because embed grants are tied to the podcast author. Plays from your embeds are absorbed by Podhoc and do not consume listener credits. See the embed documentation for full details.

Mental model — credits ≈ podcast minutes

For everything in the matrix above, a useful rule of thumb is that 100 credits generate (or grant access to) roughly 30 minutes of audio at standard settings. Listens at 2 or 5 credits are a small fraction of a generation; downloads at 10 credits cover both the storage round-trip and the lost re-listen revenue.

Legacy pricing — existing subscribers

If you subscribed to Podhoc CREATOR before 2026-05-18, your account is grandfathered onto the previous credit-consumption rates: 1 credit per full listen on Free, 0 on CREATOR/PRO/owner, and 10 credits per download for Free with 0 for CREATOR/PRO/owner. Grandfathering is automatic, persists across renewals, and applies as long as your subscription remains continuous. You do not need to do anything — the previous rates apply on every Discover play. See Terms §8a for the full grandfathering policy.

Frequently asked

What happens to my welcome credits?

You start with 50 welcome credits the first time you sign up. They do not refill automatically. To make longer podcasts or to generate more after the welcome run, recharge from €2.29 — no subscription required.

Are credits refunded?

Credits are non-refundable once issued, but they never expire. Generation that fails for a Podhoc-side reason is automatically refunded to your balance.

Do bigger packs include bulk discounts?

The €22.99 pack is the anchor — it delivers the best per-podcast rate. €44.99 and €66.99 packs match the €22.99 rate per credit, so bulk buying is free of a premium but does not get a deeper discount. The cheaper packs (€2.29, €4.49, €11.49) pay a small per-credit premium to cover the fixed processing cost of a smaller charge.

How much do I save with the yearly subscription?

Yearly plans pay for 11 months and grant 12 months of credits, so the effective discount is about one month free versus the monthly cadence. Creator yearly is €230.99 (vs €20.99 × 12 = €251.88 monthly); Pro yearly is €802.99 (vs €72.99 × 12 = €875.88 monthly).

What if I run out mid-podcast?

A podcast that fails for an insufficient-credits reason refunds any credits already debited and shows the exact cost on the failure screen, so you can recharge the precise amount and re-run.

Does my podcast get published publicly when I generate it?

By default, yes. Every podcast generated on Podhoc is auto-published to the public discover when generation completes. Free-tier accounts cannot opt out — Free-tier podcasts are always public. Creator and Pro subscribers can disable “Auto-publish to Discover” per-podcast or globally in account settings. Uploaded source files (PDFs, DOCX, TXT, notes) are never published — only the generated podcast (audio, title, cover, summary) goes on the discover. See Terms §6a and Privacy Policy for the full rules.

How many credits does it cost to listen to a Discover podcast?

Free tier costs 5 credits per full listen, CREATOR and PRO cost 2 credits, and listening to a podcast you own is always free (0 credits). The 30-second preview is free for everyone, signed-in or not — see the matrix above for the full breakdown.

How many credits does it cost to download a Discover podcast?

Downloads are reserved for signed-in CREATOR and PRO subscribers — Free-tier accounts do not see the download button. CREATOR and PRO subscribers pay 10 credits per download of a community podcast and 0 credits when downloading their own podcasts. Free-tier owners pay 5 credits to download their own podcasts on the rare occasions the download surface is exposed to them.

What is the preview audio I hear when I am not signed in?

It is a 30-second clip of the podcast generated automatically when the podcast first goes public on Discover. The preview is always free, requires no account, and is the same preview anyone hears — there is no degraded or watermarked variant. Press play, decide, and sign in to listen to the full episode.

What does grandfathered pricing mean?

Existing CREATOR subscribers (those who subscribed before 2026-05-18) keep the previous credit-consumption rates on every Discover play: 1 credit per full listen for Free, 0 for CREATOR/PRO/owner, and 10 credits per download for Free with 0 for CREATOR/PRO/owner. The flag is set automatically and persists as long as your subscription remains continuous — you do not need to opt in.

Can I embed any Podhoc podcast on my site?

No. You can only generate an embed snippet for podcasts you own, because embed grants are tied to the podcast’s author. Listen plays from embeds are absorbed by Podhoc and do not consume listener credits. See the embed documentation for the full step-by-step.
