Using Podhoc
How long does generation take?
Most capsules are ready within a few minutes. Longer or more complex sources may take slightly longer. Pro plan users receive priority processing for faster generation times.
What duration should I choose?
Match the duration to when you will listen:
- 5 minutes — Quick summary for a brief walk or break
- 10-15 minutes — Suitable for short commutes or errands
- 20-30 minutes — Ideal for gym sessions or longer commutes
- 45-60 minutes — Deep exploration for dedicated listening time
- Up to 2 hours — Comprehensive coverage for long study sessions
Can I combine multiple sources in one capsule?
Yes. On the Creator plan, you can combine up to 2 sources. On the Pro plan, up to 50 sources with per-source weighting to control emphasis.
Can I generate in a different language from the source?
Yes. Upload a document in any language and generate the capsule in any of 74 supported languages. Podhoc extracts the content and generates natural audio in the target language.

The API is available to Pro plan users. It allows programmatic podcast generation via HTTP requests — useful for integrating Podhoc into your own tools, LMS, or workflow.
Where is the API documentation?
Full API documentation is available at podhoc.com/api, including authentication, endpoints, code examples, and SDKs.
Troubleshooting
My capsule sounds incomplete or missing content
This can happen if the source material has:
- Poor text quality — Scanned PDFs may have OCR errors. Try a cleaner version of the document
- Very short content — Very brief sources produce very brief capsules. Consider adding more context or combining with additional sources
- Non-text content — Tables, charts, and images are not processed. The audio covers text content only
The YouTube transcript is missing or wrong
Podhoc relies on YouTube’s available transcripts (subtitles). If a video has no subtitles or only auto-generated ones, the quality may vary. Videos with manually added subtitles produce the best results.
I cannot log in

My file upload failed
Check that your file meets these requirements:
- PDF — Must contain selectable text (not just scanned images)
- Word — .doc or .docx format
- Text — .txt format with UTF-8 encoding
- Size — Files must be under the upload limit for your plan
